Due to its inertness, talc improves adhesion and anticorrosion, increasing the paint’s durability. Because of its low viscosity properties, talc helps coatings manufacturer to formulate low volatile organic compound paints, thereby reducing the quantity applied and solvent emissions. Our Talc is exceptionally suitable for use in solvent-based protective coatings and in all paint and coating systems where an increased solid content is desired.
Talc is able to influence the viscosity of water- and solvent-based formulations. For example, it increases covering power, improves flow and prevents settling. It also improves the adhesion and final mechanical properties of the coating. Talc enables paints, with the necessary low viscosities, to be formulated with significantly less organic solvents. Within the surface coatings industry Talc is used in a variety of industrial coating applications including primers and undercoats. Talc is used as a filler / extender where it imparts corrosion resistance and increases paint stability. Talc can be used in solvent and waterborne paint applications.
